5 Benefits of Automated Sliding Gates

Posted by Codarity 10/06/2019 1 Comment(s) Gate Automation,

Automated sliding gates are the gates of choice for many properties all over the UK. Whether rural or urban, business or residential, properties benefit from the flexible, convenient and secure nature of this type of gate automation, making it easier for both the owner and any visitors to access the property. A risk assessment, alongside space either side of the gate is required, but that will guarantee an easily accessible entry that is as safe and secure as it is welcoming. At Linkcare, we understand the need for customers to be absolutely sure that the product they choose is the best possible option for their wants, needs and desires. We’ve put together a list of just some of the benefits of an automated sliding gate to help you understand whether or not this is something your property could benefit from.

Safety

A priority for most residential and commercial property owners is to keep everything as safe and secure as possible. Vandalism to businesses can cause detrimental issues for those that run them as well as create a potential deterrent for future custom. The lengthy process of going through insurance means it can take weeks or even months for business to return as usual and damage to any aspect of buildings, cars or grounds can cause a real headache for owners. Owners of residential properties have their cars, tools and bikes to worry about, with those residing in more rural areas even having to think about more practical items such as oil tanks. Sliding automated gates offer the invaluable feeling of peace of mind when you leave the property, safe in the knowledge that all your possessions will be secure.

Convenience

Most sliding automated gates do not require you to exit your vehicle in order to enter and advanced access control entry systems using the latest technologies ensure efficient entries and exits as and when required. This is a clear advantage for when it is late at night or raining and you’d like to keep time spent outside to a minimum, or when you have a consistent flow of incoming and outgoing traffic.

Increasing Property Value

The very nature of these gates makes them visually appealing and therefore contributes to the overall aesthetic of your property’s exterior. Gates can be personalised to reflect your preferences in regard to colour, size and material and can even be customised in accordance to branding for businesses. First impressions count for more than we realise and anyone looking to sell in the next few years will reap the benefits of the luxury nature of this feature, both in terms of desirability and value.

Space

Sliding gates are compact and do not take up any more space aside from a thin barrier across whichever road, drive or pathway they are operating. In towns and cities in particular, parking spaces can be few and far between, meaning that those who own property in built up areas need to make the most of their space for maximum efficiency. Unlike swing gates, sliding gates will not interfere as much with other areas within the property, meaning you can make the most of every inch without having to worry about moving cars around to accommodate an inward-swinging gate. That said, you will need to ensure there is space to one side of the drive, around 500mm larger than the length of the gate, to accommodate the gates.

Functionality

The flexible nature of these gates means they can easily be installed in instances where other gates will struggle to fulfil their purpose without causing inconvenience. Properties with a wide opening, particularly in industrial or commercial areas will benefit particularly well from the addition of sliding automatic gates. If the space between the gateposts is positioned on a slope then you may wish to consider a cantilever sliding system, which can carry the gate clear off the ground. These gates are also designed to withstand the elements and are a lot more robust than other varieties that are perhaps more vulnerable to conditions such as strong winds, as it only has a thin edge against the wind as opposed to the entire face of the gate.

That concludes our guide to the five main benefits of these kinds of gates and how your property, be it residential or commercial, could benefit from them. I'm running an auto repair shop, and I was thinking of getting commercial automatic gates for the property soon to help protect our business better since we have a lot of our clients' cars with us. I'm thankful you assured us that sliding automated gates will give us peace of mind about leaving our property safe and secured since this can create a potential deterrent. I'll keep this in mind while I look for where I can get automatic gates installed for our auto repair shop soon.
